NordStick NordBench:
Phenomenal Concept, Reality Nightmare
NordStick’s NordBench caught my attention with what appeared to be a phenomenal concept. So, I shelled out over $500 (with a 10% promo code) for the NordBench, Band System, and Wall Mount, hoping for an all-in-one solution to strengthen my legs and lower back.
Unfortunately, the execution, quality control, and order fulfillment fell far short of the polished image NordStick promotes the NordBench in its social ads and website.
The Illusion Begins: March 13, 2025
I placed my pre-sale order on March 13, buying into the illusion that this was a premium, thoughtfully engineered product. I now realize NordStick’s pre-sale model is built more for cash flow and low-overhead inventory management than timely or reliable delivery. I should’ve checked the return policy first — a big mistake.
Once the March 30 promised delivery date passed with no word, I considered canceling but hesitated, still hopeful. That hope would prove costly.
No Shipping Notice, No Transparency
I finally reached out on April 20, asking about shipping. On April 25, I received a response — and a FedEx tracking number. Turns out it shipped April 23, delivered April 25 at 11:30AM — the same day support finally replied.
Still, no proactive notice from NordStick. That silence would become a theme.
Assembly: “Tighten as Much as You Can”
The printed guide was just that — a “guide.” No torque specs, no clarity. Their video says: “tighten as much as you can.” Not exactly confidence-inspiring for a product meant to support your body weight under tension.
Damage on Arrival, And the Real Nightmare Begins
Upon unpacking, I found:
- A bent adjuster knob
- A twisted frame
- Bent extension arms
None of this was referenced in the guide. I reported it the same day (April 25) and got a reply April 28 — full of apologies, but no real resolution. I was asked to send a video of the damage and “our founder, Garrett would love to troubleshoot this for you, you can book a call with him” — effectively making me unpaid quality control.
A replacement adjuster knob was sent May 6, arriving May 9 — again, no shipping notification.
Missing Accessories, More Delays
On May 29, I followed up to confirm the replacement adjuster knob arrived and asked for ETAs on the Band System and Wall Mount. NordStick replied:
- Wall Mount: 1st–2nd week of June
- Band System: 3rd–4th week of June
The Band System finally arrived July 15. FedEx notified me — not NordStick. The FedEx delivery notifications and return label said Litchfield Park — with no clear link to NordStick, making it hard to even identify the sender.
More Quality Issues: Band System
Incorporating the Band System into a workout revealed two of six screw-in anchors had thread issues. They wouldn’t seat properly, risking damage to the NordBench frame.
The carabiners? Cheap, sharp-edged, and restricted in movement.
The handles? Displayed on the NordStick website different than delivered.
The updated handles? Too small for anyone with XL glove-size hands, causing friction and discomfort within minutes.
The Wall Mount? Still MIA. Canceled.
With months of delays, upon receipt of the Band System being delivered without the Wall Mount I immediately canceled the Wall Mount. To NordStick’s credit, they promptly processed a refund, including a $50 credit for the trouble — one of the few positive gestures in this whole experience.
Misleading Dimensions & Product Downgrades
The final straw? The product isn’t what’s shown on the NordStick site:
- Width is listed at 22 inches (without rubber feet). Actual: 24 inches with rubber feet.
- Base frame shows 33 inches online. Real measurement: 41.5 inches collapsed, 47.5 inches in use.
- The “upgraded” model no longer has the 20-degree angle capability advertised in Exercise Demo videos.
- The “improved foam”? Already showing permanent knee indentations and drooping at the top after light use.
Final Verdict
✅ Does the NordStick NordBench work for training legs and lower back?
Yes — once fully assembled and assuming your unit isn’t defective.
❌ Is it worth the time, stress, and follow-up?
Absolutely not.
NordStick has a solid concept, but their business model prioritizes margins over customer experience, and their support is reactive, not proactive. The misleading product visuals, poor fulfillment transparency, and subpar accessory quality make this purchase one of the more frustrating consumer experiences I’ve ever had.
If you’re considering the NordStick NordBench — proceed with caution. You might save a few bucks upfront, but you could spend months chasing what you paid for.
