Back in 1996, Robert “Bob” Perlman was in jail for tax evasion^[1-7].

He plead guilty agreed to serve 8 to 10 months in prison and pay $6.7 million in back taxes, penalties, interest and $250,000 toward prosecution costs after a five-year investigation by the IRS.

Prosecutors charged that he evaded paying more than $2.7 million in taxes by systematically under reporting BrandsMart USA’s year-end inventories in 1986, 1987 and 1988.

When Robert “Bob” Perlman finished his prison sentence, a number of newly released prisoners were hired.
